In an exciting matchup, Jamal Murray delivered an impressive performance, scoring 33 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a solid victory over the Dallas Mavericks, finishing at 118-109. This game took a notable turn when Cooper Flagg, the highly anticipated rookie and first overall pick, exited the game due to a sprained left ankle, which occurred in the second quarter during a defensive play against Peyton Watson.
The incident happened with 6:01 left in the second quarter, as Flagg stumbled after being called for a foul. Although he initially limped to the locker room, he returned briefly to play for the last 2 minutes and 35 seconds of the half. However, he did not reappear for the second half, confirming that he would not continue playing. In his limited time on the court, the 19-year-old former Duke standout managed to score six points over 15 minutes.
Murray wasn’t alone in his scoring efforts; Aaron Gordon contributed significantly with 22 points, while teammate Peyton Watson added 18. On the other side, Naji Marshall led the Mavericks with 24 points, closely followed by Brandon Williams with 20 points.
