Make Your Vote Count

To make your vote truly count, it has to stand for what you believe.  Your vote is a political statement.  Unless you vote for what you believe, you will not be heard.  The equivalent would be to say yes to someone when you mean to say no.

The Libertarian Party and its candidates fight for everyone’s liberty on every issue.  When you vote for a Libertarian, you know that your freedom will always come first.  Libertarians agree with William Allen White who said: "Liberty is the only thing you cannot have unless you are willing to give it to others."

Many would argue that when you vote Libertarian, your vote actually counts more.  Think about it a moment.  More often than not, when you vote for a republican or democrat, they seemingly always let you down by enacting a new intrusive law or more taxes.  When the republicans and democrats repeatedly let you down like this, did your vote really count? Of course it didn’t.

The Libertarian Party and its candidates have one driving principle you can always count on.  On every issue, we fight for everyone’s freedom.  Pick any issue you want, and we will be on the side that protects your freedom.  You can count on it!

The republicans and democrats lack such discipline and principle.  Their only desire is to get elected.  They are forever changing positions to get alliances with certain groups in order to get elected.  They want people pitted against one another over how little freedom you will get.  The republicans and democrats are always talking about imposing someone else’s ideal on you with new restrictions or spending more of your money on some new program.

The Libertarian Party and its candidates trust you.  We trust you to be law abiding and responsible.  We believe you are capable and competent.  Libertarians believe in your desire to make the most of your life for you and your family.  We only require that you do not hurt anyone else in the process.  Freedom with personal responsibility means that if you abuse the freedom by hurting someone else, only then will you be punished and held accountable for your actions.

The republicans and democrats think that if drugs are legal then everyone will do drugs.  They think that every business will cheat all their customers.  Both major parties believe that everyone is so incompetent that they cannot invest in their own pension.  The republicans and democrats think that no one can be trusted with guns.

They consider us all suspects because they think we are all naturally bad.  After all, there are some bad people they can point at in order to scare the huge majority of good people in this country into accepting less freedom for the illusion of more safety.

The two major parties use fear in another way too.  They are always trying to scare you into voting against the other side.  They want you so afraid that you think that your vote is absolutely necessary to defeat the frightening republican or horrible democrat.  This is another way to steal your vote from you, taking from you your right to have your vote count for what you really want.

The Libertarian Party is gaining momentum throughout the country as people everywhere are realizing how far we have drifted from the principles of freedom laid down by our Founding Fathers.  The Libertarian Party is America’s freedom fighters and people everywhere are turning to us to make their voices heard.

Your vote counts more when you vote Libertarian because your vote stands for what made America great -- Liberty and Justice for All!
